Lack of Laguna Blvd’s ‘Phase 6’ Casts Shadow on Completion Date

by Jeremy Bochniak

During City Council’s February 21st session, it was announced that Phase five of the Laguna Blvd. construction had been completed.

The Asphalt had just completed drying and there was great excitement about finishing ‘Phase Six’ quickly, thereby completing the long-tenured project.

At the end of March, heading into April, there have been no public announcements about what 'Phase Six' entails, whether it has commenced, or when it is expected to conclude, including the completion date for the project

Island Matters contacted City Secretary Angelique "Nikki" Soto multiple times regarding the project, but received no response.

The Laguna Blvd project has been ongoing for 3 ½ years since the final concept was adopted in August of 2020.

Island Matters will continue to monitor any updates regarding the Laguna Blvd project.
