The South Padre Island Police Department provided the following incidents from April 7th through April 13th, 2024.
4/8 - At approximately 9:01 a.m., officers were dispatched to the Stripes Store at 5000 Padre Boulevard about a beer theft. Officers arrived and documented the theft.
4/8 - At approximately 10:23 a.m., officers responded to the 200 block of West Huisache about a verbal disturbance. Upon arrival, officers made contact with three male subjects who stated a male subject wearing gray shorts and a t-shirt was highly intoxicated and had left the location where his vehicle was located. Officers were unable to make contact with the male subject and left the location. At approximately 8:49 p.m., officers were dispatched to the same location where the male subject had returned to the property. Officers made contact with the male subject who was highly intoxicated and arrested the male subject for public intoxication.
4/9 - At approximately 3:40 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Gulf Point Condominiums located at 200 Padre Boulevard Unit 1201 about a possible online scam.
4/10 - At around 2:11 a.m., officers were dispatched to The Cigar Bar, located at 5908 Padre Boulevard, about an intoxicated subject. Contact was made with the subject who was determined to be highly intoxicated to the degree he was a danger to himself and others and was placed under arrest for the offense of Public Intoxication.
4/11 - At approximately 6 p.m., officers responded to the 500 block of Padre Boulevard about theft. Investigation reveals that a known suspect commits an offense if he enters a habitation, or a building (or any portion of a building) not open to the public, with intent to commit a felony or theft.
4/12 - At approximately 1:35 a.m., officers responded to the 500 block of Padre Boulevard about a disturbance. Upon the officer’s arrival, they made contact with several subjects who were verbally arguing and highly intoxicated. Officers were then able to separate the subjects to de-escalate the situation. The manager of the hotel then stated he wanted all subjects to leave the area. A male subject and a female subject who were highly intoxicated refused to leave the area of the hotel. Officers then placed the subjects under arrest for public intoxication.
4/12 - At approximately 6:26 p.m., officers were dispatched to the hotel lobby area of the Holiday Inn Resort located at 100 Padre Boulevard about a past burglary of a hotel room. Investigation revealed that without the effective consent of the owner, an unknown actor entered a room, not then open to the public with the intent to commit theft.
4/13 - At approximately 6:52 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 8000 block of Padre Boulevard about a vehicle driving over traffic cones on the road. Officers located the vehicle at the 2900 block and the three male subjects who were located with the vehicle were placed under arrest for public intoxication and possession of drug paraphernalia.
