The South Padre Island Police Department provided the following incidents from April 14th through April 20th, 2024.
4/14 - At approximately 2:10 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 3000 block of Gulf Boulevard about criminal trespass. Upon arrival, officers made contact with a male subject manager at the location who stated a male and female subject were having a verbal argument. Officers made contact with the male and female subjects who appeared to be under the influence. Officers then placed the male and female subject under arrest for Public Intoxication due to them appearing in a public place while intoxicated.
4/14 - At approximately 6:12 p.m., officers were dispatched to 100 Block West Sunny Isles Street about a crash. Upon arrival, contact was made with the reporting party and an investigation was conducted. After the investigation, one female subject was arrested for possession of substance penalty 3 class A misdemeanor, driving while intoxicated class B misdemeanor, failed to control speed class C misdemeanor, no driver's license class C misdemeanor, and failed to maintain financial responsibility class C misdemeanor.
4/15 - At approximately 9:32 p.m., officers responded to 119 East Marlin Street about an ongoing disturbance between a male and female. Upon the officer’s arrival, they made contact with a male subject who was injured. Officers then made contact with the female subject at the same location. After the officer’s investigation, they placed the female subject under arrest for assault.
4/17 - At approximately 8:21 p.m., officers were dispatched to 410 Padre Boulevard about a theft of service. Upon arrival, contact was made with the reporting party and an investigation was conducted. After the investigation, one male subject committed an offense of theft of service class C misdemeanor.
4/18 - At approximately 11:02 a.m., officers observed an expired registration on a gray SUV and conducted a traffic stop with the vehicle at the 100 block of West Palm Street. The operator was subsequently arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and transported to the South Padre Island City Jail. The operator was booked and processed properly.
4/19 - At approximately 5:19 p.m., officers were dispatched to Jim’s Pier located at 211 West Swordfish about a male subject who was not welcomed at the business.
4/19 - At approximately 7:27 p.m., officers responded to the 130 block of Padre Boulevard due to a past theft. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the male reporting party. The male subject stated that he had some items that were stolen from his car. Officers gathered information from the male subject and resumed patrol.
4/20 - At approximately 11:53 a.m., officers responded to the police lobby about a past theft of a cellphone. Information was gathered and a case was generated for theft.
4/20 - At approximately 7:55 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 100 Block of West Morningside about a disturbance. Information was gathered and a report was generated for assault.
