The South Padre Island Police Department provided the following incidents from April 21st through April 27th, 2024.
4/21 - At approximately 12:27 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle due to no headlights when required on the 6200 block of Padre Boulevard. Officers then made contact with a male driver who showed signs of being intoxicated. Officers then conducted the standard field sobriety test on the male driver. Officers then placed the male driver under arrest due to the clues he showed on the standard field sobriety test. Officers then placed the female passenger under arrest for public intoxication and possession of controlled substances.
4/21 - At approximately 03:17 a.m., Officers were approached by a female at the 6400 block of Padre Boulevard claiming to have been assaulted by her husband. Information was gathered from the female and a report was generated.
4/25 - At approximately 03:26 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle due to speeding. Officers then made contact with a female driver and a female passenger. Officers then observed a THC vape pen in plain view. Officers then conducted a probable cause search on the vehicle due to narcotics in plain view, Officers then located a marijuana joint on the driver’s side door. After the officer’s investigation, they placed both females under arrest and transported them to the City jail.
4/25 - At approximately 12:48 p.m., contact was made with a complainant at 4601 Padre Boulevard about a civil matter. The complainant advised that she worked 15.45 hours and was not paid for cleaning services.
4/25 - At approximately 9:55 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle due to speeding. The vehicle came to a complete stop at the 3100 block of Padre Boulevard. Officers then made contact with a male driver. While officers made contact with the male driver, a strong odor of marijuana was emitting from inside the vehicle. Officers then conducted a probable cause search on the vehicle. Officers then located a marijuana joint inside the vehicle. Officers then took custody of the narcotics and cited the male driver.
4/26 - At approximately 09:11 a.m., the South Padre Island Police Officer detained a male subject at 310 Padre Boulevard for a warrant issued by the Laguna Vista Police Department. After investigation, the warrant was confirmed and the male subject was transported to the Port Isabel Police Department where he was released to Laguna Vista Police Officers.
4/27 - At approximately 4:08 p.m., Officers were dispatched to the Island Metro Multi-Modal bus station located at 321 Padre Boulevard about a criminal trespass warning being requested for an unwanted male subject. Contact was made with the male subject and he was given a criminal trespass warning.
4/27 - At approximately 5:16 p.m., officers responded to Daddy's Restaurant about a verbal disturbance between a customer and employees. Investigation revealed that a male subject was in a public place while intoxicated to the degree that he was a danger to himself and the general public. The male subject was arrested and subsequently charged with public intoxication.
