The South Padre Island Police Department provided the following incidents from from May 5th through May 11th, 2024.
5/5 - At approximately 4:07 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 100 Block of East Gardenia in reference to a female who was intoxicated walking down the street. A 22-year-old female was located walking at the 4200 Block of Padre intoxicated and with no sober party to take custody of her. The female was placed under arrest for public intoxication and transported to South Padre Island City jail for processing.
5/5 - The officer made contact with a female subject in our police station’s front lobby. The Female wanted to file a report for a past theft. The female stated an unknown subject took some items from her vehicle without her consent. No time of the incident was reported.
5/6 - At approximately 10:41 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 6600 block of Padre Boulevard in reference to a one-vehicle crash. After investigation, the male operator was placed under arrest and charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and a confirmed arrest warrant from Calhoun County Precinct 1 Office.
5/6 - At approximately 7:44 p.m., officers responded to the 1800 block of Gulf Boulevard due to a male subject being aggressive towards a female. Upon the officer’s arrival, they made contact with both male and female subjects. The female subject had visible markings on her arm and stated the male subject grabbed her and wouldn't let her go. After the investigation officers placed the male subject under arrest for assault.
5/7 - At approximately 10:25 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 100 block of East Whiting Street in reference to theft. Upon arrival, officers contacted property management who stated that items were taken from a construction area that was available to present and past employees. The reporting party wanted to report the theft and for charges to be filed.
5/7 - At approximately 8:23 p.m., officers and South Padre Island Paramedics were dispatched to the 3000 block of the beach in reference to a female being pulled from the ocean who was currently having a seizure. Officers located the female who was evaluated by South Padre Island Paramedics and after being cleared was placed under arrest for public intoxication.
5/8 - The officer responded to the 100 block of West Retama Street in reference to a welfare concern of a male asleep behind the wheel of a vehicle. Upon arrival, contact was made with the male operator, after investigation, the male driver was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated. A female passenger was also placed under arrest for public intoxication. No time of the incident was reported.
5/8 - At approximately 7:47 p.m., officers responded to a physical disturbance in progress at the 5300 block of Padre Boulevard. Upon the officer’s arrival, they located the male aggressor who was highly intoxicated and aggressive. Officers also made contact with the male victim who was assaulted and had swelling/redness in his left eye area. Officers then placed the male suspect under arrest for the assault and public intoxication.
5/8 - At approximately 8:47 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Wanna Wanna Motel and Beach Bar located at 5100 Gulf Boulevard in reference to a stolen vehicle. Investigation revealed that an unknown suspect operated the complainant's motor vehicle without his effective consent.
5/9 - At approximately 8:01 p.m., officers responded to the 100 block of West Retama Street in reference to a 911 call of an ongoing assault in a motor vehicle. South Padre Island Dispatch then received a secondary 911 call of the ongoing assault in the vehicle. The location of the ongoing assault was at the 900 block of Padre Boulevard. Upon the officer’s arrival, they observed a vehicle with a male and female subject inside the vehicle. Officers then made contact with the female subject and separated her from the male subject. The female had bruising to her eye area, and red markings on both of her legs. After investigations, officers placed the male subject under arrest and transported him to the city jail for booking and processing.
5/9 - At approximately 10:38 p.m., officers responded to 1500 Gulf Boulevard in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival, one male subject was placed under arrest for public intoxication and transported to the city jail where he was booked accordingly.
5/11 - At approximately 1:00 a.m., South Padre Island Police Officers responded to an incident regarding a disturbance located at the 1000 block of Padre Boulevard. Subsequently, one male subject was placed under arrest for public intoxication and transported to the city jail where he was booked accordingly.
5/11 - At approximately 7:12 a.m., the South Padre Island Police Department was advised by the Cameron County Sheriff's office about a male subject under their custody for a local warrant issued by the city of South Padre Island Municipal Court. South Padre Island officers then made contact with the Sheriff’s Deputy and took custody of the male subject. Officers were then transported to South Padre Island city jail for booking and processing.
