The South Padre Island Police Department provided the following incidents from May 12th through May 18th, 2024.
5/12 - At approximately 12:23 a.m., officers responded to a disturbance located at the 1000 block of Padre Boulevard at which time one of the male subjects was located and placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated and two other male subjects were arrested for public intoxication. All three male subjects were transported to the city jail where they were booked accordingly.
5/12 - At approximately 1:17 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 2300 block of Laguna Boulevard in reference to a disturbance between a male and female subject. Upon arrival contact was made with the reporting party and an investigation was conducted. After the investigation, one female subject was arrested for public intoxication class C misdemeanor.
5/12 - At approximately 5:31 a.m., officers were dispatched to 3408 Padre Boulevard in reference to physical disturbance between two subjects who were both located and arrested, charged each with public intoxication and disorderly conduct by fighting.
5/12 - At approximately 1:18 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 6700 block of Padre Boulevard in reference to Criminal mischief to a motor vehicle. Upon arrival, officers made contact with a male subject who stated an unknown subject had damaged his vehicle overnight by throwing a rock into the vehicle's window and causing damage to the passenger's side door. Information was gathered from the vehicle and the male subject.
5/13 - The officer observed a single-vehicle accident on the 4600 block of Padre Boulevard. Made contact with female driver, after investigation driver was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated. No time for the incident was given.
5/13 - At approximately 9:18 p.m., officers responded to the 6200 block of Padre Boulevard about a theft. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the male reporting party. The male subject stated that his phone was stolen near the pool area. Officers gathered information from the male subject and resumed patrol.
5/16 - At 2:21 a.m., an officer made contact with a blue 2003 Toyota Rav4 at Beach Access Two which had a subject visible sleeping inside the driver's seat after hours despite the signs that prohibit parking there after midnight. The vehicle was found to be stolen and the subject inside was arrested for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Two other subjects soon approached; one was found to possess the key to the vehicle and had driven it to South Padre Island. This subject was also charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. The third subject, a juvenile was released to a family member.
5/16 - At approximately 7:16 p.m., officers responded to the Peninsula Condominiums located at 340 Padre Boulevard about a criminal trespass. The subjects that were in the pool area without wristbands had fled the location after being inquired with by staff and were not located by officers searching the surrounding areas for the suspect vehicle. A written statement was gathered from a staff member at the location after slurs were spoken to him offensively by the trespassing party.
5/18 - At approximately 1:00 a.m., officers responded to the 2300 block of Laguna Boulevard about an assault. Investigation revealed that a male subject committed an offense when he intentionally or knowingly caused physical contact with other(s), security officers while performing duty as security officers when the male subject knew or should reasonably be believed that the other(s) would regard the contact as offensive or provocative. A male subject was placed under arrest for assault on a security officer (2 counts) and was transported to the South Padre Island city jail for booking and processing.
5/18 - At approximately 1:52 a.m., officers responded to 200 West Pike Street in reference to a disturbance. Investigation revealed that a male subject committed an offense when he appeared in a public place, while intoxicated, to the degree that he was a danger to himself and others. A male subject was placed under arrest for public intoxication and was transported to the South Padre Island city jail for booking and processing.
5/18 - While patrolling the 7000 block of Padre Boulevard, the officer observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation. The officer then conducted a traffic stop on that vehicle. After investigation it was determined that the driver was intoxicated. Driver was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated. No time of the incident was given.
5/18 - At 3:13 p.m., South Padre Island police officers responded to a dog bite that occurred on the 1800 block on the shore line of Gulf Blvd.
5/18 - At approximately 5:38 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 4000 block of Laguna Boulevard in reference to a male subject wearing a purple shirt with blue jeans breaking into vehicles. Officers patrolled the area of Laguna Boulevard and later located the male subject wearing the purple shirt with blue jeans on the 3800 block of Laguna Boulevard. The male subject was then arrested after investigation and making contact with the victims.
5/18 - At approximately 10:05 p.m., officers responded to the 200 block of West Morningside Drive in reference to a criminal mischief. Upon officers arrival they made contact with a female subject. The female subject stated a male subject damaged her front windshield to her vehicle. Officers then later located the male subject and placed him under arrest. The male subject was then transported to the city jail for booking and processing.
