Temporary Daily Lane Closures Scheduled for Queen Isabella Memorial Causeway June 3-6

by Sarah-Victoria Lozano de Gonzalez

TxDOT released a notice to drivers traveling to and from South Padre Island this coming week.

Drivers will encounter lane reductions while a TxDOT contractor performs preventative maintenance on the Queen Isabella Memorial Causeway.

The scheduled maintenance work aims to extend the service life of the bridge and will take place from Monday, Jun 3 through Thursday, Jun 6, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. daily.

Traffic will be reduced from two lanes to one lane in small sections at a time, affecting either eastbound or westbound traffic as needed. The lane closures have been strategically planned to occur during non-peak hours to minimize inconvenience to drivers.

Motorists are advised to plan for potential delays and exercise caution when traveling through the work zones.
