The Parks and Keep SPI Beautiful Committee met at City Hall on Wednesday, June 19, at 9 a.m. to discuss recommendations for the City Council.
The City Council tasked the board with reviewing the current draft and providing recommendations or suggestions before adding it to the Council's agenda.
In the draft of Chapter 25 of the city's ordinances, the board renamed a special use permit to a special event permit after Parks Manager Debbie Huffman advised that the city does not have a special use permit.
The parks maintenance team updated the board, announcing that they are repainting John L. Tompkins Park due to rust. They also sanded and painted the wooden railing to smooth out rough edges.
Additionally, the parks maintenance team upgraded and painted the Water Tower Park playground.
Huffman urged the public to report any park issues by emailing pwcares@myspi.org.
