The South Padre Island Police Department provided the following incidents from June 17th through June 23rd, 2024. Reports are lightly edited for reading purposes.
6/17—At approximately 12:58 p.m., a lost wallet report was taken in the lobby of the police department at 4601 Padre Boulevard after the item and its contents were likely lost the day before at the hotel at 7010 Padre Boulevard.
6/17 - At approximately 6:37 p.m., officers responded to the 5000 block of Padre Boulevard about a crash. Officers then made contact with the female driver of the vehicle that was involved in the crash. After the officer’s investigation, the female subject was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated.
6/20 - A complainant was contacted at the Police Department lobby about the Theft of a Cell Phone. The complainant stated that on 06/20/2024, she left her phone in her purse on the beach by Access # 10. The complainant stated that she could use the Find My Phone app to track it to McAllen and needed to file it with the police.
6/20 - At approximately 5 p.m., officers responded to 5312 Padre Boulevard about an intoxicated female entering a business and breaking items. Investigation revealed that a female subject committed an offense when she appeared in a public place while intoxicated, to the degree that she was a danger to herself and others. A female subject was arrested and transported to the South Padre Island city jail for booking and processing.
6/21 - At approximately 8:01 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the 5600 block of Padre Boulevard about a lost property report of a license plate. All available information was gathered for documentation purposes only at this time.
6/21 - At approximately 10:55 p.m., officers responded to the 2800 block of Padre Boulevard due to a male subject asleep on the floor. Upon the officer’s arrival, they made contact with the sleeping male subject. While officers made contact with the male subject, they observed he had signs of being highly intoxicated. After the officer’s investigation, they placed the male subject under arrest for public intoxication.
6/22 - At approximately 10:34 p.m., officers made contact with an intoxicated female on the 4600 block of Gulf Boulevard. The female was observed having red, bloodshot eyes, was unable to keep balance while standing up, and had a strong odor of alcohol emitting from her breath/person. After the officer's investigation, the female was placed under arrest for public intoxication.
6/23 - At approximately 01:13 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Padre Boulevard about an assault call. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the reporting parties, who stated that physical contact with a male subject was not consensual, and they wanted to file charges. The male subject was issued a non-arrest citation.
6/23 - At approximately 5:46 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 3200 block of Padre Boulevard about a physical disturbance. Upon arrival, officers contacted the reporting party and investigated an attempted burglary of a vehicle. Four subjects were found to be intoxicated and arrested with additional charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a substance in penalty group 3.
