This is our final issue of Island Matters. Effective Monday, Island Matters becomes the property of New Horizons Publishers, the publisher of the PI Press. They share our commitment to the mission of real journalism on the island, ensuring the quality and integrity of our publication. They plan to keep things “as they are,” with each issue delivered to your email inbox. Please be patient while we transition. The New Horizons team is learning about the website and hiring reporters and editors for this project. The bottom of our newsletter always said that Island Matters is free to read but not free to produce. The same is true for the PI Press. As a for-profit company, it is dependent on advertising and subscriptions. We hope our business sponsors will become advertisers in the PI Press and our readers will become subscribers.
