July meeting minutes 7/12/24 Call to order 9:05 am

Approval of June’s minutes: Don Nicholson 1st, Sue Bellows 2nd, All in favor - minutes approved.
Treasurer’s report $13477.34, Income $700.00, expenses $1198.52, ending balance $12978.82
All records are open to view if anyone is interested. Our insurance payment went out, so the balance will be much lower next month.
We are shopping around for better rates for our insurance. Sue Bellows offered a referral for another company that may meet our needs. Don will also give us his insurance agencies info.
President's Report - Great Music in the Park in June. We did have some weather issues that kept some folks home, but it worked out great - we never got hit with the rain.
Joe will keep people updated on the GCBA page if we need to use our backup plan. We have a backup plan for Music in the Park, but the Parks dept has asked us not to share the info unless it becomes necessary.
Most of the vendors appreciated being under the pavilion. Those that were not happy with their spot can move if they wish. Any vendors wanting to be in the grassy area are responsible for their own shelter.
Shin-Diggety Hot dogs bailed us out when our 2nd food truck canceled on us and we are grateful!
TheJuly MITP Thursday will feature local Garden City Band, The Smith Factor.
Vendor - each vendor will have raffle tickets to pass out to anyone visiting their table. All tickets will be gathered and 1 will be pulled for a $100 cash prize.
GC Jewelers also gave away a necklace in a drawing.
July MITP food trucks are Hogz BBQ, Heavenly Hot Dogs & King Kone.
We are still working on membership retention by having backup plans for those who do not respond to the emailed invoice. After 2 emails, we will mail an invoice. If still no response we will follow up with a phone call before dropping them from our website.
Golf outing at GC Mini Golf - Don is still working details for possibly August 6
August 7 Drive-in movie & car show 4507 S Venoy in Westland. ET is this year’s movie. There will be food and fun, including a Spiderman bicycle that will be raffled.
Grand opening Vera’s bridal 29474 Ford Road, Saturday, August 10 at noon
Hines Drive car cruise is August 25. This is a classic car show. Vendor spots available. Christmas in August.

Champions Golf Outing for GC High School is coming up and looking for sponsors. The program helps kids in high school meet goals for success. The Gateway Golf Course in Romulus, August 20 is when it will take place.
Sharon Hassett - Straight Farmhouse. The GC Garden Walk is tomorrow - tickets can be purchased at Barson’s July 18 community Care Pharmacy is holding their 2nd annual carnival in the parking lot that used to be Kmart. The GC Senior Center is holding a Health & Wellness Expo on Tuesday Sept 17 10:am - 1:pm, still looking for vendors. 734-793-1870
