| Dear Members and Friends of CASIA,
October has gone by in the blink of an eye! I'm happy to report that CASIA has been very busy this month. On October 1st we delivered a Cyber Security webinar presented by Dee Ann Harn with RFI who shared her harrowing experience when her company went through a sophisticated cyber attack (link to the recording below if you missed it). We also held our October Membership Meeting on the 17th where we paid tribute to the late, great Pete Orvis who was an inspiration to so many within our association and the industry at large. Pete will be greatly missed. We were also honored to be joined by guest speaker, Jim Wooster with Alarm Financial Services who provided great information on the current M&A market from his perspective as a lender to our industry. In addition, during our vendor spotlight we heard from Marty Redfern with Qolysys/DSC who shared updates on their products and solutions!
As we continue to build exciting momentum and growth within CASIA, I encourage you to get involved! The next opportunity to come together with us will be at ISC East in November. Please use the registration link below to register. CASIA partners with ISC, who is a strong supporter of our organization. It may feel like the year is drawing to a close, but we can't let you go this soon! Please plan to join us at our Annual Holiday Party that will be held on December 19th! This will be a fun, festive event and our opportunity to close out the year strong, reflect on all that we have accomplished this year and set the stage for explosive growth in 2025! Speaking of 2025, I'm very happy to share that we have set the dates for all of our meeting and events for next year to allow you to mark your calendar and plan to actively participate in our great association!

The Communicator has a rich history! Pat Remes came across this treasured Issue from June of 1983, when "THE COMMUNICATOR" was announced as the new name of the newsletter for the Connecticut Burglar and Fire Alarm Association.
As we continue to remember Pete Orvis, uncovering this issue is incredibly timely. In this issue, Pete was recognized for being elected to the NEAAC Hall of Fame and his "Pete's Beat" column discussed the need for state licensing in Connecticut. Pete was a true pioneer and it is with great respect that we remember all that Pete did for our great association and the industry! |

Residential Security System Sales are Down, But Revenues are Up as Pro-Installs Share of Sales Rebounds
"According to Parks Associates latest research, less than 10% of security system owners reported purchasing their system in the past year, matching a low point of the beginning of the pandemic. When considering the margin of error, this rate is at near parity with recent quarters, but the slow housing market and depressed consumer spending are having an impact on security system sales."
