Holiday Bonus! New Pricing Structure for WPS Membership.
WPS has decided to eliminate our two-tiered membership. New members will only pay $75 per year and will receive the full benefits of membership, including use of both the General Message Board and the Referral Message Board. Members will be able to share their discount codes for our webinars with any of their employees or affiliates, including mental health professionals who are not psychologists. This simplifies our membership structure and provides many more benefits to all members at a lower price.
You can join WPS during the month of December and take advantage of the new pricing in time for our January 10th webinar. Note that most of our upcoming two-hour webinars are designed to satisfy the Michigan biennial licensing requirements for Ethics (3 CE) and Pain Management (2 CE). We also plan to have a two-hour Implicit Bias presentation by mid-2025. Memberships that come up for renewal in the coming months will renew for only $75. They will have continued access to both the General and Referral Message Boards.
The Limited Membership category is being phased out. Anyone who joined in this category can upgrade to full membership for only $25 or less. They will continue to only have access to the General Message Board until they upgrade or renew their membership at the new low rate of $75. |

Ira Glovinsky's journey into psychology was far from conventional. Growing up in a chaotic Brooklyn neighborhood, he was initially drawn to the field by the intriguing complexities of human behavior. His early experiences shaped his perspective, leading him to develop an interest in understanding and addressing issues related to chaos, dysregulation, and instability.
His academic journey began with a challenging start as a student. However, an encounter with a fellow student on the basketball team sparked his interest in psychology. This newfound passion led him to pursue a Master's in School Psychology and ultimately a PhD in Clinical Psychology. Throughout his career, Ira has held various roles, including teacher, therapist, researcher, and educator. He has made significant contributions to the field of pediatric psychology, particularly in the areas of infant mental health and pediatric bipolar disorder. His work has included research, clinical practice, and teaching, and he has co-authored several books and articles.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Ira is a passionate advocate for early childhood education and cross-cultural understanding. His extensive travels have broadened his perspective and influenced his approach to teaching and research. He is currently involved in several initiatives aimed at improving early childhood education and mental health services.

Ethical Considerations in the Diagnosis and Treatment of Porn & Sex Addiction
Kenneth M. Adams, Ph.D., CSAT-S January 10th, 2025 | 12PM to 2PM
|
Sex and porn addiction-related problems are increasingly being reported in clinical practice. Much controversy has surrounded the notion that sex can become addictive.
Two key moments in the field of addiction treatment have helped clarify this issue and inspire a variety of effective treatment approaches. In 2011, the American Society for Addiction Medicine issued a statement defining addiction as a chronic brain disease affecting reward, motivation, memory, and related functions. In 2020, the World Health Organization added Compulsive Sexual Behavior Disorder (6C72 CSBD) to its ICD-11 Manual, recognizing it as a legitimate diagnosis. This presentation will offer the latest insights on diagnosing and treating porn and sex addiction, along with related ethical considerations.
Registration for this event is now open! Early-Bird Pricing is Available. Non-members pay $60 per person and Members pay $40 per person. Membership costs only $75 yearly. |

As members of our psychological community, we invite you to join us in sustaining the valuable work of WPS. As a lean organization, we face financial constraints that jeopardize our ability to maintain essential services. The costs of custom software and our dedicated part-time staff strain our resources. These fees also pay for our website, our searchable member directory, our two-hour lunch time webinars by experts in their specialties, occasional in-person networking meetings, and other services.
Your generous donations will not only help bridge this gap but also ensure the continuity of our mission. Together, let's continue to nurture this community of psychologists. We are grateful for your ongoing support and commitment to our shared vision. |
