MEETING MINUTES
Friday, January 10, 2025
Call to Order: 9:06 am by Jackie Perrydore, President
Attendance: Jackie P., Mike W., Joe B., Sharon, Don N., Brandy, Cathy & Dave, Kelly F., Elaine F., Amy, Mat,
Natalie T., Antoinette P., David, Guy, Mickie & Dawn & Facebook attendees Mike L., Jerry
New Members: Peace Lutheran School.
Minutes: December meeting minutes were approved by Natalie & Amy.
Financial Report: Joe reported December expense report. Filed as reported.
President’s Report:
* Attended Essence Events open house & a new clothing boutique on Ford Rd.
* Attended the first president’s committee meeting which has been created for non-profits to work
together, schedule dates of events, avoid overlaps and create a public access calendar for community
events, city officials attended as well as DDA & Parks & Rec. with valuable information.
* Waiting on fee schedule for rentals from Parks & Rec.
* A motion to accept the provided proposed budget for 2025 was made by Amy & Mickie. All
approved with no nays.
Ongoing Business:
* Music in the Park dates 6/19 with Sinjon Smith, 7/17 with Magic Bus, and 8/21 with Smith Factor.
Sponsorship forms are ready to distribute, offering more options and possibly will be put on-
line. Food vendors are being obtained. Additional parking and shuttle service have been discussed as
well as more bathroom options. Fun décor & merchandise is being suggested to make Magic Bus a
fun interactive experience.
Communication:
Mickie/Dawn - P/C AAUW, Beauty and the Beast show Feb. 6,7 & 8 at O’Leary Auditorium
Brandy – Public Service Credit Union, CD special
Don – Marketplace, many cruises, need volunteers.
Matt – DDA, Master Plan Open House Jan. 23, Lucky Squirrel, Chili Cookoff need volunteers, register for Hometown Hero banners
Amy – Mary Kay skincare
Guy – Garden City Jewelers, repairs
David – Schoolcraft College, culinary, concerts
Kelly – Eagle Works, lathe & wood work artists
Cathy/Dave- Rotary providing free standing libraries
Antoinette- Essence Events banquet rental with commercial kitchen for rent
Natlie– Shaklee ambassador offering health & wellness
Sharon – Kiwanis Open House, January 29, 7-9pm @ Oddfellows Hall
Joe - J & J Taxes, offers payroll services, bookkeeping & more
Mike W. – Liberty Tax, it’s tax time!
Jackie – National Realty Centers broker
