IMPACT100 NORTHWEST FLORIDA NEWSLETTER   |  JULY 2025

Alternate text

Message From The President:

I hope you enjoyed a wonderful Independence Day. Although we do not have any member events this month, July is a very busy month behind the scenes.

With grant applications due by July 15th, the Grants and Finance Committees are busy!  Prior to receiving an application, the Grants Committee makes sure that each applicant has had their 501c3 status for at least two years and that they have all required paperwork filed with the state.  As applications come in, Grants looks them over to make sure that they have given us all required documents before turning them over to the Finance Committee.  The Finance Committee then does a thorough review focusing on each organization's financial stability.  Those applicants who meet the criteria, will move to the next stage--grant application review by our members.

If you would like to be a grant application reviewer this year, you must sign up for a Focus Area Committee (FAC) by 7/31.  The Grants Committee has spent a great deal of time looking at ways to simplify our process while keeping the goal of fair and impartial review of the applications as our focus.  You can find more information below about those processes under Focus Area Committee Sign Up.

If you would like a Name Tag, the final order will be placed soon.  See below for information about ordering.  Orders will not be accepted after July 28th.

Our August Membership Social will be held on Tuesday, August 19th at the Hammock Bay Lake Club located in the Hammock Bay neighborhood in Freeport.  We will have get an update from our 2015 grant recipient, The Matrix Community Outreach.  You are invited to help them stock their pantry with peanut butter & jelly, canned meats like chicken & tuna, canned soups & stews as well as instant oatmeal packets.  Items like these will help families immensely so please remember to pick these items up and bring them along with you to the event.  You can sign up to attend at the link below.

Our September Membership Social will be held at Mezcal Mexican Grill in Miramar Beach on Wednesday, September 10th so mark you calendar.  This will be strictly a member social with no speaker planned for that evening.  Focus Area Committees will be in full swing at that time so this is a chance to just hand out and visit with your Impact friends.

Please let me know if you have any questions!  Hope to see you soon and I hope you will consider signing up for a Focus Area Committee.

Focus Area Committee Training will be held on Saturday, August 23rd from 10am - 1pm at Crosspoint Church in Niceville.  A complimentary lunch will be served.  This training will help you understand everything you will need to know about serving as a reviewer and there will be an opportunity for you to meet your committee chair(s) and your fellow committee members.

Site visits will not begin until after Labor Day (September 1st) and should wrap up no later than October 3rd.

Prior to each site visit, we ask that you review the application in preparation for a "tailgate" style pre-site meeting that will occur just prior to the site visit.  If you have questions that you'd like answers to prior to the site visit, you will post those to your FAC's message board.  The chair will compile these and send them to the applying organization.  Site visits are kept to 1 hour--this is the "show and tell" portion of the process.  We do site visits so that organizations can explain the project, the need and the impact of the project face to face.  After your 1 hour site visit, your committee will have a quick "debrief" of the site visit and you will fill out a post site visit evaluation.  Your FAC Chair can send any remaining questions to the organization.

We know you are busy ladies and we value your time as well as the time of our applicants.  We also value our commitment to a fair and impartial review of our applicants proposed projects.  At the end of the process, we look forward to hearing which two projects your committee selected as finalists.

The Finalist Reveal is set for Monday, October 20th for those who would like to attend.
