See below for an upcoming social and resources to help you during this time. Feel free to share any of this with others! Support our Partners
The coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic has created havoc for many Michigan businesses; especially those involving contact with the public. Many of our partners have been affected by orders to close or change their business model for the time being. In an effort to give back, we've created a list of our partners along with their websites. We encourage you to help them in this time of need to be a patron as you are able or consider making a purchase of a gift card to be used later. Help our partners who have given so much to us over the years, in a time when they could use a helping hand!
Check out a list of our partners by clicking here.
***If you find any articles or posts that would be beneficial to all, please feel free to send to Jessica Anderson and she'll get it posted up on our JCI Lansing public facebook page to encourage community collaboration and support at this time.

Tips for working from home
Donate Blood "The biggest need we are hearing from our partners is from the Tri County Office on Aging who need drivers for meal delivery. Their congregate meal sites have been closed and they are relying more on in home delivery.
The best support is cash contributions to the Greater Lansing Food Bank and the Capital Area United Way has established an Emergency Fund to support our neighbors with cash assistance during this time. We will be building out this fund over the next few weeks and sub funds can be established (i.e. if you wanted to organize to support a specific neighborhood)
Finally, we are asking everyone to make an appt and give blood. We have a critical shortage because large blood drives have all been cancelled. Please schedule your appointment to donate blood HERE using your zip code to locate the closest location."
Donate Food
"Greater Lansing Food Bank will continue to serve our neighbors who are food insecure during these uncertain times." If you're looking for a way to support the local community through providing meals, or know someone in need, please visit Greater Lansing Food Bank for details on how to help or how to get help.
Elections - Opportunity
If you are looking for a way to give back to the community through Democracy, you may be interested in signing up to be an election worker this spring. They are anticipating that the majority of ballots will be cast by absentee and will need to be counted. With the current situation, there is a shortage of workers willing to assist clerks. Check out "Democracy MVP" for details on how you can assist in this year's election.
If you aren't registered to vote or need an absentee ballot you can visit Michigan.gov/vote.
Lansing Area Mutual Aid
https://www.lansingmutualaid.org/together
Lansing Area Mutual Aid (LAMA) began in light of the novel coronavirus pandemic to directly match existing community resources to those in need of those resources, as quickly as possible. We are an expanding collection of individuals, businesses, and organizations that seek to ensure every resident in our area is in a place where their basic needs are accounted for, and that we as a community feel safe, empowered, and connected.
You may offer you services, request services, or donate financially to help LAMA operate during this time.
Visit their Facebook for even more opportunities as needs arise.
