I hope that you have been able to spend some restful moments with family and friends, in whatever way 2020 permits. This past holiday weekend, I took the opportunity to watch Hamilton for the first time. Without spoiling anything for those who have not seen it – or diminishing it for those who have – all vocal and dance performances aside, the founding fathers are portrayed as fallible men, often with moral shortcomings and dubious motivations, faced with an uncertain future and with no precedent for how to establish a new nation. SDBSI 2020 Campfire Series While we couldn't even begin to replicate the once in a lifetime experience of attending SDBSI in person, we are able to host an incredible training series this summer! Save the Date: Re-imagining the Financial Aid Experience in a COVID-19 Pandemic Join WASFAA colleagues on August 5, 2020 as we all re-imagine what service to students might look like though the fall, whether it be face-to-face with masks, or remotely. The goal of this webinar is to create space to exchange ideas, learn, and collaborate on how to continue to provide excellent service in our current reality. Rebekah Hoppel Salcedo Leadership Development Program WASFAA is excited to launch the Rebekah Hoppel Salcedo Leadership Development Program. This program will expand your knowledge base after the Jerry R. Sims Management and Leadership Institute on crafting and fine-tuning your skills as a leader within your office, within WASFAA, and within the higher education community. We will offer more focused training in leadership along with a 1:1 mentorship over the course of a year to develop the next generation of leaders.
