Totally in agreement with CVB leadership! Every beach community and visitor destination is going after the same markets that South Padre Island is targeting.
Additionally, advertising and marketing at this time of year is gearing up strongly to build offseason business. It is absolutely marketing suicide to cut that budget in the face of seasonality issues and the current pandemic uncertainties.
Finally, what other economic engine drives 90 percent of SPI’s business and tax revenue outside of the visitor industry?? Obviously, none!
This is a business issue for all of SPI, not a political crap game...
