What’s happening:
City Council posted an agenda for November 4, 2020, to discuss banning canopies on the beach.
Why it matters:
- Most residents and property owners own canopies rather than single pole umbrellas.
- It’s winter season when beach use is at a minimum.
- There are suspicions that this order could be designed to favor vendors over residents.
