Substandard Structure Review Board & City Council Report Substandard Structure Review Board
What happened: A motion for civil administrative penalties of $500 per day to 100 Padre Blvd. (BEACH RESORT AT S PADRE ISLAND). Penalties commence on January 6, 2022 and continue until all completed orders and repairs finish.
Why it matters: The property owners failed to submit and complete a detailed plan and timeline schedule of the work and repairs due by December 31, 2021.
Owner Nitin Kasan extended his apologies to the board, explaining some delays with dangerous electric lines that only one electrician could fix. "Today, that was all disconnected, and finally, it was safe for us to move that metal from that part of the building so that nobody gets hurt," said Kasan.
What now: Kasan offered to take pictures for the board immediately, since the electrical issues were cleared shortly before the meeting.
