TIRZ & City Council Report

Announcements:

Mayor Patrick McNulty announced a discussion about the Quiet Water Sports Wind Park, "Councilman Joe Ricco, Kristina Boburka, Ed Cyganiewicz, and I attended about a two-hour conference call with the US Army Corp of Engineers."

Presentation from Economic Development Corporation on Deep Water Marina Feasibility Study by Greg Weykamp (Gayle Hood)

What happened: Weykamp discussed the feasibility study, in which he spoke about the advantages and strategies for a future marina. The next step, according to Weykamp, is to identify and build a partnership. "I have talked to local Marine owners who are interested in having this conversation."

Why it matters: The locations of the Deep Water Marina are an expansion to the Sea Ranch Marina or a new marina close to the causeway. Weykamp explained that the Sea Ranch property marina is in the county, and the property they are looking at is the city's property. According to Edgewater Resources' feasibility study, building a marina by the bridge was the best place on the island to build one." Both options are still in discussion.
