Palm Beach State College, established in 1933 as Palm Beach Junior College, proudly holds the distinction of being Florida's first public junior college. Our theatre department, which opened its doors in April 1982, has become a cornerstone of the arts community in Palm Beach County for over 43 years. Spanning from the far western Glades region to the eastern shores, our four theatres offer an eclectic array of programs that appeal to both residents and visitors alike.
The theatres cater to a diverse audience throughout Palm Beach County, ensuring our programming is accessible, affordable, and reflective of our vibrant community. The Duncan Theatre and Stage West are renowned for showcasing both emerging and established artists across various genres of dance and music. Meanwhile, the Dolly Hand Cultural Arts Center stands as a cultural beacon, providing essential access to the arts as the only performing arts center serving the five-county area surrounding Lake Okeechobee. The Eissey Campus Theatre not only delivers exceptional performing and visual arts experiences but also serves as a home for numerous local cultural groups.
