Description: Join the Foundation for Health Care Quality in collaboration with Washington Health Alliance and Comagine Health to kick off the first webinar of a three-part series on Catalyst for Change, focused on health equity in a value-based era! Value-based payment is a payment method for clinicians that rewards them for the quality of health care they provide, rather than the volume or number of patients they see. The National Academy of Medicine describes quality health care as care that is safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable. Yet, some research has found that some value-based payment initiatives have failed to advance health equity in large part because equity wasn’t prioritized during their design and implementation.¹ In this webinar, we will hear from representatives of different stakeholder groups within our health ecosystem discuss how they are promoting quality that centers equity in the forefront of their care.
