Event Description
Please join us for this great training opportunity with Dr. James Clay. Our event host has five open seats in their training space!
This opportunity is exclusively for Members and will cost only $200 for the full two-day training.
Day one(12/5) will take place from 9am-3pm and day two(12/6) will take place 10am-2pm.
Part I will provide a basic overview of the most common and intense personality disorders.
Part II will take focus on customized training and additional overview of diagnosis.
Personality disorders are different from other psychiatric disorders. People who experience personality disorders may sometimes show subtle symptoms, and others show intense behaviors that lead to rushed hospitalization. Often, we get very little training on working with people who may have avoidant personality, borderline personality, conduct disorders, and many others. Without basic knowledge, we cannot spot symptoms consistent with a personality disorder, so we don't know how to help people who are suffering. Unfortunately, personality disorders also cause chaos and stress for families, caregivers, police and the community in general. This is especially true for those individuals who experience both a personality disorder and developmental disability as well.
This training will be offered in two parts to allow for both deeper understanding of the topic, as well as offering and practicing working with those who experience personality disorders. The first class will provide an overview of the most common and intense personality disorders. The second class will be the following day to allow attendees to consider what they learned on the first day and return with questions so that the time together can be as practical and useful as possible.
This is an in-person training. A calendar invite and additional location details will be sent via Google Calendar invite.
