The Crisi Wartegg System (CWS) and Shame
5/2/2025 - 5/2/2025
11:30 AM - 2:00 PM MST

Location: University of Denver Ammi Hyde building, 2450 S Vine Street, Denver, CO 80210

Registration ends on 5/1/2025

Event Description
Shame, “a common and painful experience”, is perhaps one of the least investigated and most neglected aspects in psychodiagnostic and psychotherapeutic work. It is present in numerous forms of psychopathology. Due to its many faces and the various defensive strategies that are implemented by the patient against it, shame is difficult to identify. This lack of recognition or, in some cases, the underestimation of the role played by shame determines complexity in psychotherapeutic treatment and, sometimes, even, its failure. The Seminar, after an introduction to the key concepts of shame and the indices of the Wartegg test that allow its correct identification, will illustrate a clinical case  taking into consideration the data of the Wartegg test alone. This event will be co-sponsored by the Graduate Schol of Professional Psychology (GSPP). This program includes 2 CEs.  The University of Denver, Graduate School of Professional Psychology (GSPP) is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. GSPP maintains responsibility for this program and its content.
