CACFP Roundtable

The CACFP Roundtable announces its Call for Presentations for the 2022 Annual CACFP Conference. You are invited to submit a presentation proposal for a workshop session that addresses important training need that our CACFP community is facing.

We are excited to be back in person! Only under limited conditions would we consider a virtual presenter. Our goal this year is to reconnect and recharge. Here's what you can expect:

  1. The conference will be held at the Hyatt Regency in Sacramento, CA - directly across the street from the beautiful State capitol.

  2. We will have a whole team available to support you day-of with any video and audio needs.

  3. Sessions will be 75 minutes long, with ample time for settling in, saying hello, presenting, work-shopping the content, and answering questions.

  4. The attendees are eager to learn and interact! And we promise a lot of fun and time to tend to our collective and individual needs.

Conference Tracks

Our conference tracks are designed to inspire presentations and discussions that are timely, relevant, and push us to grow. We also are looking to reconnect with the basics of the Child and Adult Care Food Program - introductory trainings to welcome our newest community members, best practices to simplify our day to day work, and innovations that help us build CACFP for the future. While most presentations will fall into our 6 track categories, we encourage you to submit any of your presentation ideas, so long as they are relevant to the work of the CACFP community.

Submission Guidelines

Your presentation should provide the following:

  • Relevance and Clarity: The content is aligned with our 2022 conference tracks (i.e., Back to Basics / CACFP 101, Programs Operations & Management, Nutrition & Eating Enviroments, Advocacy & Outreach, Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion, and Professional Growth & Self Care), plus interesting and useful to our expected attendees. Learning objectives should be clearly stated and describe how the presentation will support attendees' learning and growth.
  • Tailored for the Audience: CACFP is a program that operates in child care centers, family child care homes, adult day care facilities, afterschool programs, and emergench shelters. How these individuals work and implement their Food Programs varies greatly. Please tailor your presentation for the audience you are trying to reach, by including specific examples and content, when appropriate, that will help your intended audience put your presentation into practice.

  • Engaging Format: Involves the audience, stimulates dialogue, and is consistent with the principles of effective adult learning.

  • Practical Application or Thought-Provoking: Presentations should provide take-away knowledge that can be used by attendees in their day-to-day work, describe how ideas and methods can be transferred for use by others, offer how-to skills to improve performance; or reflects research and/or practical experience that is innovative and well-grounded.
