Basic Chemistry for Water and Wastewater Operators
 

3.0 Basic Chemistry (F-1 College Equivalent) | 3.0 Science SHEs
up to 3.0 DW/WW Tech CECs (Pending Approval) | 30 PDHs 

This 12-week course covers atoms and the elements, chemical bonds, compounds, solutions, acids and bases, and then moves into chlorination, alkalinity, and more. The instructor has extensive experience in both drinking water and wastewater and can help operators get a solid foundation of chemistry as it relates to their job. The class will be mostly lecture with some in-lab experiments and promises to be fun and informative. A basic chemistry book is included in the course fee.

  • Operators and professionals needing college-level equivalent credits
  • Drinking water professionals preparing to take the EGLE F-1 and F-2 Exam
  • Wastewater professionals preparing to take the EGLE Municipal A or B Exam
  • Chemists and Lab Technicians looking for more specific training in water-based chemistry
  • Others who want to advance their knowledge or a refresher of chemistry
