   Equity, Access, and Innovation: Teaching Multilingual Learners in a Tech-Transformed Landscape
 
It is ITBE’s mission to support strengthening all levels of instruction and research in the teaching of English to speakers of other languages and in bilingual education through the promotion of scholarship, the dissemination of information, and advocacy, in cooperation with other groups and organizations having similar concerns. To accomplish this mission, ITBE hosts an annual convention every year in the last week of February. In 2026, our convention will be held on February 27 and 28 in Sheraton Lisle/Naperville Hotel. The theme of this year's convention is Equity, Access, and Innovation: Teaching Multilingual Learners in a Tech-Transformed Landscape.

For our 2025 Annual Convention, we are partnering again with the Virtual Event Platform, Whova, to give our attendees increased opportunity to interact with each other, our exhibitors, and our presenters. All who register will have access to this platform starting a month before the event, available on mobile and desktop!

  • LUNCH is included.    
  • Professional Development Hours (PDHs) are based on days of attendance. Attendees can earn up to 6 PDHs daily. 
  • Certificates of attendance will be sent electronically this year. Please make sure to read our Instructions for Attendees document (located in the Whova app) for details.
  • Event Programs will be available virtually, through our Whova application. We recommend having your tablet or smartphone handy to access the schedule. 
 
EARLY REGISTRATION reduced rates until February 3, 2026.

LATE REGISTRATION will be available from February 4th to February 22nd, after which time registration for this event will close.

SAME DAY / ON-SITE REGISTRATION is not guaranteed and will be allowed if space allows; higher rates and additional processing fees will apply.
 

PLEASE NOTE: In order to utilize Credit card processing for on-site registration, you must have access to a personal device that can connect to the internet. It is highly recommended that you register online before you get to the convention to avoid waiting time and possible connectivity issues.

GROUP REGISTRATION: When registering a group of attendees, kindly ensure that members and non-members are grouped separately in distinct transactions to ensure accurate rate application. Membership must be completed or renewed in seperate transactions for group registration. Failure to adhere to this may result in an invoice adjustment, which must be settled at a later time. Feel free to reach out before registering if you have any questions. 

PURCHASE ORDERS: This year, we can accept credit card payments only. Purchase orders are not accepted by default. If your organization requires a purchase order, please contact us to discuss possible arrangements.
