LABOR LAW DIFFERENCES BETWEEN INTERNS, VOLUNTEERS, AND EMPLOYEES
What’s the difference between an intern, a volunteer and an employee? Isn’t the only difference that the employee gets a paycheck? Is there a line that could infer compensation for what was unpaid service? What kind of recognition might put you in a risky situation compliance-wise? Nicole Babnick is an attorney with over 10 years of labor and employment law experience. Currently an HR Manager, she has gained practical experience working in the private sector and government giving her the unique ability to ensure legal compliance while still meeting business needs. In this workshop, Nicole will help you learn the legal and plain language definitions for volunteers, interns, and employees. You’ll gain an understanding of how to differentiate between these different groups of individuals and then put your knowledge to use working through FAQs to see how these concepts apply to real life situations.
