Webinar - Achieving Effective Resilience Through AI
5/22/2025
In support of Business Continuity + Resilence Week (BCAW+R), RIE Toronto is offering the following webinar panel discussion and Q&A:
Achieving Effective Resilience Through AI
In today’s volatile environment—marked by geopolitical uncertainty, economic instability and the looming risk of a recession, organizations must rethink how they anticipate and mitigate risks to be able to maintain and enhance resilience through its business continuity and crisis management practices.
While the banking and insurance sectors are uniquely positioned to leverage AI-driven solutions to enhance resilience, in general AI is transforming risk assessment, fraud detection, and operational continuity by enabling predictive analytics, real-time monitoring, and automated decision-making. Banks are using AI to strengthen cybersecurity, optimize liquidity buffers, and improve regulatory compliance. Insurers are adopting AI-powered underwriting models, claims automation, and catastrophe risk modeling to safeguard financial stability.
However, as AI adoption accelerates, new challenges emerge—ranging from regulatory scrutiny to ethical concerns and the need for transparent AI governance. Our esteemed panelists will explore how AI is reshaping how we sustain and enhance resilience, the evolving role of AI in incident and crisis response, and the future of AI-driven resilience in an increasingly complex global economy.
Panelists:

With over 30 years of experience, Alvaro is a trusted leader in IT resilience, cybersecurity and risk management. He currently leads global disaster recovery and IT availability at Manulife where he has driven major reductions in IT incidents and pioneered AI-based initiatives.
